Librarian Rayat Bahra University

The Central Library at Rayat-Bahra University serves as the University’s Knowledge Resource Centre and forms the intellectual backbone of the institution. It is stocked with more than 42558 printed books in circulation along with 15,000 books under the Book Bank scheme for the needy and meritorious students, besides a rich collection of periodicals and journals covering diverse academic and research disciplines. To strengthen global academic exposure, the Library provides access to 327 international e-journals and over 3,500 national journals through DELNET, along with more than 11653 e-Books. The EBSCO database further enhances digital access by offering over 39,581 e-Books and 6,200 full-text academic journals. Wide range of multilingual magazines and newspapers are also subscribed by the library.

Users can also explore valuable academic platforms such as National Digital Library of India, Manupatra, Shodhganga, PubMed, NPTEL, and NMEICT, ensuring comprehensive support for advanced research and innovation. Housed in a centrally located, state-of-the-art three-storey Wi-Fi enabled building spread over 26,852.76 square feet; the Library provides a peaceful and intellectually stimulating environment for learning. It offers adequate computer workstations for OPAC and e-resource access supported by high-speed internet bandwidth for seamless connectivity. The Central Library remains open 365 days a year, 24×7, ensuring uninterrupted and seamless access to knowledge resources for students, faculty, and researchers at all times. Library is using the Koha Library Management System.

The Central Library is a dynamic centre of knowledge and innovation that empowers students with independent learning skills, supports faculty in curriculum development and scholarly publication, and provides researchers with access to authentic, peer-reviewed national and international resources, thereby fostering academic excellence and lifelong learning at Rayat-Bahra University.
